Youngstown Jewish Community Human Library
Youngstown Jewish Community Human Library Project
The Human Library Project, funded by a grant from the Natan Fund in cooperation with the Center for Rabbinic Innovation, will help the members of the Youngstown Jewish community learn more about each other and begin a community-wide conversation of our hopes and dreams for the future of our Youngstown Jewish community.
The YJC Human Library Project will contain “Human Books”.
The individuals who make up the “Human Books” will come from a variety of backgrounds within our Jewish community. All of our Human Books will have plenty of stories to share with the “patron” who checks them out from the library. Each patron will be given a booklet containing questions to help guide the conversation and to take notes for the project’s records. “Patrons” and “Books” will meet via video conferencing or on the telephone. Due to the Covid—19 Pandemic, no conversations will take place in person. Jenny Lloyd the project’s administrator will schedule the meetings between “Books” and “Patrons.”
